Matri calls for Juve focus on Siena clash

Alessandro Matri insists beating Siena is all Juventus care about despite heavy media attention on next week's top-of-the-table meeting with Napoli.

Juve maintain a healthy four-point gap over Napoli going into the weekend but that could change should they fail to see off a resurgent Siena side, who have registered three wins from their last five games.

The Tuscans have defied the odds to beat Inter Milan and Lazio in recent weeks and Matri knows his team-mates take precautionary measures.

He told "We're just thinking about the game against Siena which is currently the most important as far as we're concerned.

"They're in good shape both mentally and physically and they'll come here to sit back before looking to break on the counter."

The sell-out is an ideal opportunity for Antonio Conte's men to get back on track following last week's 1-0 defeat at Roma.

"We all sat down and analysed our performance together," Matri added. "Not much went right for us, the game began badly and ended even worse.

"We've understood the errors we committed and now we'll set off again with the same desire to win that we've always possessed.

"We can't think about Napoli at present, even if I don't believe the game at the San Paolo will be decisive as far as the destiny of the title is concerned."

Siena do not have the luxury of worrying about a title fight as they continue to pour all their energy into defying a six-point deduction to survive in Serie A.

An away day at Juve presents the Tuscans' toughest challenge to date but head coach Giuseppe Iachini believes his men can escape the bottom three.

"The secret to this success is organisation, intensity and the right mindset to always go looking for a victory by playing proactively," he said.

"We have to continue like this, always believing in the work we do.

"I do not look at our ranking now, it makes no sense to do so. We will just try to win as many games as possible, then we will do the maths at the end."

Defender Giorgio Chiellini, striker Nicklas Bendtner and midfielder Simone Pepe will not feature for the hosts due to injury, while midfielder Angelo misses out for Siena, as Juve strive for a first home win over the Tuscans since January 2009.
