Balotelli's goal draws the plaudits

Mario Balotelli was praised by AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and manager Massimiliano Allegri for his free-kick goal in the club's 2-1 win over Parma.

Balotelli scores with a wonderful free-kick

Milan had Balotelli to thank once again after the Italian international scored what turned out to be the winning goal for the Rossoneri in their clash with Parma with a beautiful free-kick to preserve his proud record of scoring in each of the three games he has played for his new club.

Balotelli doubled his side's advantage 12 minutes from time after the Rossoneri had taken the lead against Parma through an own goal from Gabriel Paletta in the 39th minute, but the former Manchester City player's goal proved crucial when Nicola Sansone nicked a goal back right at the death.

And Galliani was quick to commend Balotelli for his sumptuous free-kick which left Parma custodian Nicola Pavarini grasping at air.

"I cannot remember such a soft touch to send the ball over the wall," Galliani was quoted as saying by the official Milan website.

"We all remember Balotelli's powerful efforts but not the soft touches.

"It was Muntari and Yepes who went over to Niang and told him it was Balotelli's free-kick, which shows what a great team effort it was."

Allegri, who also praised Balotelli for his goal, revealed that he was pleased to see the Italian international give due credit to Mbaye Niang for giving in to him to take the free-kick, and expressed his delight with the overall team performance.

"It was wonderful goal and he did the right thing to embrace Niang afterwards," Allegri declared.

"If we want to reach our goals this season then we need everyone available and we had a lot of players who have not played a lot playing this evening and they all did well.

"We didn't play that well in the first half but we were better in the second although it is a bit disappointing to concede a goal.

"Now we will look ahead to Barcelona and it will be a great game."

With the win, Milan have now won 44 points from 25 games are currently lie fourth in the Serie A table.
