The Gialloblù have managed to avoid a loss at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in the past 11 games but their unbeaten run came to an end with a 2-1 defeat to the Neapolitans on Sunday.
Parma have even managed to inflict defeats on Inter Milan and Roma and have been praised for some impressive defensive performances.
Mazzarri commended the Parma side while also reflecting on the growth of his side in comparison to the same point last season.
"It was a very difficult match, I'm delighted," Mazzarri told the club website.
"We won on the field against a team so far undefeated and against a team that plays very well. They press high, are very diligent and have great pace. So I am very satisfied by this success."
"We have 15 more points than last season as the players are continuing to grow and which gives me a lot to be happy for.
"We have improved in handling multiple competitions, we have more cards to play during the race. There is no need for new signings and we can utilise the entire group to do well in Italy.
"I think that my team is very mature as the return round of the league always provides some surprises. At the beginning of the second half we did not start well as our approach was wrong and for a moment I had bad thoughts."
The Italian also commended the efforts of his attackers although much of the plaudits would have invariably rained on star striker Edinson Cavani who scored a late winner.
"Cavani is a great scorer but Pandev, Hamsik, are also clinical finishers. Pandev hasn’t scored in a bit but the whole team is setup to allow Cavani to score. Pandev, along with Hamsik, always provide a lot of chances for Edi.
"I am happy to have assist-men like Goran and Marek without forgetting the good performance of Insigne."
Napoli close in to within three points of league leaders Juventus after the Bianconeri were held to a 1-1 draw by Genoa on Saturday.
