Featuring for the first time in the Champions League this season, Pato lined up alongside Bojan and El Shaarawy against Malaga, scoring his team's only goal in a game that ended 1-1.
The Brazilian had made his return from a thigh injury at the end of October, and Galliani told La Gazetta dello Sport that he hopes Pato stays healthy for the rest of the campaign.
"If Pato is fit, he can get back to being the player he used to be: with his pace and with his ability, it'll be as if we've made another fantastic new signing. If he avoids picking up another injury he'll be a phenomenal player again," Galliani shared.
"I haven't got a single doubt about him. He's 23 - I hope he can get back to being the real Pato we know. On Tuesday Bojan and El Shaarawy started alongside him, they're very young too."
Currently 14 points adrift from Serie A leaders Juventus, AC Milan have a looked a shadow of their former selves, with critics pointing out that the club are struggling to cope without the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. However, Galliani explained that the Rossoneri were undergoing a period of transition, and they were confident of building a new, strong team around the likes of Pato, Bojan and El Shaarawy.
"We won’t be making any major signings in January, but we won’t be selling any of our best players either. El Shaarawy and our other talented youngsters are the foundation on which we will build our new team – but everyone needs to be patient!" he stated.
"I’m saying that also to make it clear that El Shaarawy is the most important player at Milan. The fans can rest assured 101%."
