The 36-year-old Italian masterminded the victory which saw Inter come from behind to end Juventus' 49-game unbeaten run in Serie A at the Juventus Stadium.

"After 17 seconds I was worried that we'd got off to a bad start, then when I saw it was offside I thought it's the same old story. Our players did very well to respond to an injustice like that," Moratti told Premium Calcio's Serie A Live programme.

Inter went a goal down in the opening seconds thanks to Arturo Vidal's strike but Diego Milito scored twice for Inter in the second half before Rodrigo Palacio ensured the two-goal margin of victory in the 90th minute.

The win lifted Inter to second in Serie A after 11 games, just one point behind leaders and current champions Juventus. The last time Inter won Serie A they were managed by a certain Jose Mourinho.

"Stramaccioni doesn't need to be compared to [Jose] Mourinho: he's just good, he's surprising," Moratti said.

"I'd known he was planning to go with three up front for three days. Now I'm happy because what seemed to be a transition season is now starting to look interesting. But that's wait a bit before talking up our title challenge."

Speaking after the match, Stramaccioni credited the work done behind the scenes for Saturday's performance.

"We work hard all week, we prepare for everything down to the last detail," he said on the club's website.

He added: "Is this the best day of my career? The best day of my career was when the president chose me to coach Inter. I'm proud to be the Inter coach and I'm happy for our fans who can enjoy this win."

Stramaccioni took over from sacked Inter manager Claudio Ranieri in March 2012.
