Udinese vs Catania Preview

The fallout from Catania's controversial defeat to Juventus at the weekend continues to blow around Italian football this week, but Catania coach Rolando Maran just wants to move on.

Football News: Catania vs Juventus.

The Elephants had a goal disallowed in their 1-0 loss, but only after the referee initially signalled a goal and then changed his mind following vehement protests from the Juve bench.

With the big clash between Inter Milan and Juve looming this weekend, Inter president Massimo Moratti has kept the incident in the news by describing Juve's victory as 'absurd'.

Juve, meanwhile, have cancelled all media activities in protest at the way assistant coach Angelo Alessio was questioned by reporters after the match.

But on the opposite side, Maran just wants to move on.

"We have to reset after what happened," he said. "You contain your anger and start again, transforming it into something positive.

"We want a good result and we will leave no stone unturned once again.

"Udinese are a great side, excellent in the use of space."

Only one point and one place separate Catania and Udinese in the table, but they approach this match in very different moods.

While Catania are frustrated, Udinese are jubilant after coming from 2-0 down to beat Roma 3-2 in the eternal city, thanks to an 88th minute penalty from Antonio Di Natale.

However, coach Francesco Guidolin is hoping his players do not get too carried away.

"This victory should give us a push mentally, but we need to forget about it and move on to focus on Catania. Maran, like (Vincenzo) Montella last season, is doing a great job.

"They are doing well because the club's policy is smart and they choose quality players who have shown they can handle it at this level.

"We can expect a formidable opponent and we have to be ready."
