Inter are currently fourth on the table after picking up 15 points from their opening seven games, and are just four behind leaders Juventus and Napoli.
After a shocking start to the campaign prematurely ended the Nerazzurri's Scudetto hopes last year, Nagatomo believes there will not be a repeat this season.
"It's a good time, things are going well and I'm happy," he told Tuttosport.
"We are here to win the Scudetto, the whole team is focused on this goal."
The Japan international also insisted he isn't sure why he was sent off in Inter's last match against derby rivals AC Milan, and reveals he has been the subject of teasing from Antonio Cassano, who only joined the club in the summer.
"I still do not understand why the referee [sent me off]," Nagatomo added. "I struggle to understand the decision but I'm used to respecting the decisions of the referee.
"Cassano teased me about the [red] card. Antonio is my best friend at Inter. I enjoy playing with him."
Nagatomo is currently on international duty with the Samurai Blue and starred in last Friday's impressive 1-0 victory over France.
