Romulo joined the Viola in 2011 and endured a frustrating debut season with the club mired in a relegation dogfight for majority of the season, although the Viola eventually managed to fight their way to a 13th place finish in the league.
It was a huge fall from grace for the team which had finished 4th in the Serie A the season before and Romulo is determined to see the club back higher up in the league, with the prize of Champions League football on the Brazilian's mind.
"Our first objective is to reach the Champions League," Roumlo told Canale 10.
"It will certainly be difficult, but this team can do it. I am happy to be here.
"The city is fantastic, as are the fans and the Coach is very good as well."
Fiorentina's decent start to the campaign was given a setback on Sunday when they were beaten 2-1 by Inter Milan at the San Siro but Romulo is refusing to dwell on the defeat.
"I'm sad about the defeat against Inter," he added.
"The team deserved a positive result, but we need to keep on improving and avoid making the same mistakes."
Fiorentina are currently seventh in the Serie A after six games and will host Bologna in their next league fixture.
