Goals from Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Alessandro Matri put the Bianconeri three up at the Juventus Stadium inside the opening 20 minutes, before Pablo Osvaldo pulled one back from the spot for the visitors.
However, Juventus were not to be denied and added a fourth through Sebastian Giovinco to keep up their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Speaking after the game, Sabatini was understandably furious at the display.
"Many players don't deserve to wear the [Roma] shirt," he told Mediaset Premium. "We have to immediately change trajectory. Immediately.
"In the space of a few minutes, we suffered two upper-cuts, then the team just disappeared. We ask our players to react. Let's not get discouraged.
"The team is competitive and we know that we can play with anyone. We just have to learn from this defeat and change tack."
Nonetheless, Sabatini refused to label blame on coach Zdenek Zeman, and believes the players are still getting used to the new tactics being asked of them.
"I am referring to a squad that is midway through the process and still trying to absorb certain concepts," he continued.
"We are not yet gelled as a team, but must face every game with a different spirit. Right now.
"It is evident that we're behind schedule. Roma need to step on to the pitch with the right attitude and motivation.
"We emerge from this evening [Saturday] with great suffering, but have to find a solution."
Following Saturday's defeat, Roma are now tenth on the table after picking up eight points from their opening six league outings.
