Alvarez, who joined Inter from Velez Sarsfield last summer for €11.75million, made 29 appearances in his debut season at the Giuseppe Meazza, scoring three goals and laying on seven assists.
However, the Argentina international has recently been linked with a move away from the club, with some reports suggesting he could be used as a makeweight in Inter's pursuit of Catania midfielder Alejandro Gomez.
Nonetheless, his agent Marcelo Simonian is adamant Alvarez will remain with the Nerazzurri in the coming season.
"It's simply impossible that Ricky will move to Catania," he told Itasportpress. "The possibility of such a deal taking place does not exist.
"Ricardo just wants to stay at Inter and enjoy a successful season."
Alvarez earned his first cap for Argentina last September when he played in a friendly against Venezuela.
