The Italian giants have kept a close eye on Paulinho's progress for quite a while, but have yet to solidify their interest with a bid, as they remain uncertain of his ability to successfully transit from the Brazilian league to the Serie A.

However, after the midfielder's sparkling performance in Corinthians' recent Copa Libertadores win over Boca Juniors, club scouts believe the time is now right to bring Paulinho to Italy. Sky Sports 24 indicates that Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio will be flying into Sao Paulo this week to present Inter's proposal for the player.

Paulinho's contract with Corinthians is due to run till 2015, hence it is unlikely the club will allow him to leave without receiving a substantial bid. However, the Nerazzurri are hoping that a seven million Euro bid will be sufficient to persuade Paulinho's current employers to let him go.
