Juventus currently are in the hunt for a striker after last season's dismal return from their strikeforce with Arsenal's Robin Van Persie thought to be their prime target.

Balotelli's impressive performance for the Azzurri at Euro 2012 may prove that the Manchester CIty striker can be an alternative to the Dutchman.

Pirlo was is open to the idea of playing alongside Balotelli at club level and rubbished the notion that the 21-year-old is a tough nut to crack in the dressing room.

"Would I take Balotelli to Juventus? Of course I would take him.," Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia. "And I know how to talk to him.

"We both come from Brescia and when we are in the national team we speak in dialect.

"There was no problem with managing him in our dressing room, indeed he was very well behaved.

"I'd gladly take him in Turin. Mario is a guy who needs you to stay close to him."

At 33 years old, Pirlo was Italy's star performer in their surprising performance at Euro 2012. He hopes that he will be able to make it when the 2014 World Cup comes around with the promising Italy squad that manager Cesare Prandelli has built.

"I hope to have the strength to get to Brazil 2014," the midfielder confessed. "Prandelli created something new; it would be terrible to see him leave the national team."
