Lavezzi has established himself as one of the Serie A's hottest properties since moving to Naples in 2007 and has regularly been linked with a move to one of Europe's more high-profile clubs.
However, it now appears that ambitious French Ligue 1 side PSG have won the race to land the Argentina international's services, after ex-Napoli striker Roberto Sosa revealed the deal is all but done.
"Chatting to Lavezzi via text messages, I found out the news I hoped to the end would not receive: the agreement with Paris St-Germain is done," Sosa told Sky Sport Italia.
"The rumours of the last few days were unfortunately true. It will be tough for Napoli to replace him."
The prospective move was also apparently confirmed by the girlfriend of current PSG star Javier Pastore, Chiara Picone, who welcomed Lavezzi's partner, Yanina Screpante, to the French capital on Twitter.
"I'm happy you are coming to Paris," she tweeted. "We're waiting for you and we'll spend some fun times together."
Just last week, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed he would only be willing to do business if he received an offer that matches the release clause in Lavezzi's contract, which is reportedly in the region of €31million.
While not many clubs are capable of forking out such a hefty sum, PSG are currently backed by wealthy Qatari owners and should have little difficulty in tabling such a bid.
