After impressing on-loan at Siena, Destro earned himself a place in Italy manager Cesare Prandelli's provisional squad for Euro 2012. Although the striker failed to make the final cut, it is unlikely to deter Serie A giants like Inter Milan, Juventus and AS Roma from pursuing him in the summer.
Former club Inter remain strong favourites to capture Destro's signature, but the player himself prefers a move to Roma, as he is keen to link up with Fabio Borini.
"Regarding Borini, we just never get to play together and now he's remained with the national team and I've gone to the Under-21s, I hope that sooner or later I'll get to eventually play alongside him, maybe wearing the Roma jersey," Destro said to Sportmediaset.it.
The former Nerazzurri youth player also cited the chance to play with Italian legend Francesco Totti as another factor motivating him to move to the Stadio Olimpico.
"It would be a dream to be able to be trained by a coach as good as Zeman. It would be even better to play alongside a champion like Francesco Totti!" Destro shared.
