Italian goalkeeper, Marco Amelia, is set to join Palermo on a US$14 million deal.
Livorno goalkeeper, Marco Amelia, who is currently preparing for Euro 2008 with the Azzurri will join Palermo within the next few hours.
His agent, Carlo Pallavicino, has confirmed that it is close to being a done deal with only a signature from Amelia before it is announced.
The only thing holding up the process is that the shot stopper is in Austria but it should all be sorted out as Pallavicino is travelling up to Baden with the contract for him to sign.
"The deal with Palermo for Amelia hasn't been concluded just yet but it is in full swing," Pallavicino told Sky Sport Italia.
"The negotiations are still on-going but the only difficulty is that Amelia is in Austria but this shouldn't be a problem.
"Amelia is delighted with the way things are going and he would love to move to Palermo as his main ambition is to stay in Serie A."
An official statement with regards to the transfer can be expected in the coming 24 hours with a fee of US$14 million said to be agreed upon.
