The Ducale outfit lost 4-1 at Juventus in the opening round of matches and Zaccardo has stressed Parma will be desperate for a face-saving result this weekend.
"The team wants to make up for the performance in Turin and to get our first points of the campaign," Zaccardo said. "The desire to do well is definitely there and we have trained a lot.
"We made many mistakes against Juventus and we want to make amends come Sunday.
"We know that Chievo are a good side and that, like us, they will be among the teams fighting to avoid the drop this season.
"We need to be determined from start to finish and show balance and the fighting spirit that we lacked against Juve."
Chievo coach Domenico Di Carlo will be looking for his first win since replacing Stefano Pioli at the helm this summer.
The men from Verona had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Novara in their opening match after conceding a late equaliser.
"We threw away the victory," said Di Carlo. "We enjoyed a fantastic start but made a defensive mistake and we were punished.
"We must learn from this result and do better at Parma."
Parma have not lost at the Ennio Tardini stadium since falling 2-1 to Bari on April 3.
Colomba will have all of his players available this weekend.
The visitors will be without defender Gennaro Sardo, who serves a one-match ban.
