Lazio got off to a brilliant start at the San Siro on Friday evening, taking a 2-0 lead within 21 minutes after strikes from Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cisse.
However, the Rossoneri eventually pegged them back through strikes by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano to steal a point, but Reja was still pleased after the game.
"I could not ask more from my team," Reja told Sky Sport 24 after the game.
"We played well for half an hour.
"When you come to San Siro and create this many opportunities, you can say you had a good game."
While revealing that he felt a draw was a fair result on the night, Reja believes should Lazio be able to perform like they did on Friday in every game, they will be capable of competing with Italy's best.
"The result seems right.
"If we play with the same pace we did during the first half, we can compete against anyone."
It has been over a decade since Lazio were crowned the best team in Italy, with their last Serie A victory coming in 2000.
