Kaka to see specialist
AC Milan and Brazil midfielder Kaka may have to undergo surgery on his left knee, according to Brazilian television network Globo.
The station reports that any surgical intervention would mean the 2007 Ballon d'Or winner would be sidelined for around two weeks, making him ineligible for Brazil's upcoming friendlies with Canada and Venezuela and possibly next month's World Cup qualifiers away to Paraguay and at home to Argentina.
On Wednesday Milan confirmed the 26-year-old had travelled to Brazil to meet with a specialist with a statement on the club website, www.acmilan.it, which read: "Kaka will visit a specialist in Brazil to verify the condition of his left knee."
It continued: "The test will be carried out by the medical staff of the Brazil national team in the presence of Milan doctor Massimiliano Sala."
On Sunday, the Italian club said they would not allow Kaka to participate in this summer's Olympic Games as an over-age player with Brazil.
