The 33-year-old has made no secret of his desire to join the rising Italian club, who secured Champions League football after finishing third in the Serie A last season.
Talks over a move to the Naples was cooled by agent Antonio Caliendo a few days ago, but he has now affirmed that Napoli remain a possible option for Trezeguet.
"Napoli is still our favourite possibility," said Caliendo to Napolimagazine.com. "However, it is known that the market offers us opportunities every day and everyone knows his ability.
"There are other options that we are considering and we will see how it goes. We will only consider the best offers.
"Until now I could not speak with David because he was stuck in Argentina due to air traffic problems. He will return in two days, when we will analyse the offers and make the correct decision."
Napoli hesistance in their pursuit of the striker has allowed other clubs to join in the race.
"I heard from [Napoli sporting director Riccardo] Bigon last week, but since then we have not spoken. Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain have come forward with offers."
The former France international enjoyed a reasonably successful first season in Spain, scoring 12 goals, but his Spanish adventure quickly turned sour as the Alicante outfit were relegated.
