Udinese boot Milan out of Coppa Italia

Udinese brought a shuddering halt to AC Milan coach Clarence Seedorf's winning start after posting a 2-1 win in the Coppa Italia quarter-final.

Udinese's Nico Lopez

Milan appeared poised to build on the 1-0 triumph over Hellas Verona in Seedorf's first game in charge when Mario Balotelli fired the opening goal after just seven minutes at the San Siro.

But the hosts failed to kick on from that point and Udinese - who trail Milan by five points in Serie A - found an equaliser when Luis Muriel swept home a penalty four minutes before the interval.

And Seedorf's first loss in his maiden managerial role was sealed 13 minutes from the end when substitute Nicolas Lopez fired home just moments after entering the action.

Fiorentina or Siena, who meet on Thursday night, await Udinese in the last four.
