The Biancocelesti, who won the Coppa Italia last season after beating arch-rivals Roma in the final, face a tough test in this weekend's curtain raiser to the new Serie A campaign, against Antonio Conte's charges.
In a real sign that they are not willing to rest on their laurels despite winning back-to-back Scudettos, the Bianconeri have reinforced heavily in the summer by signing established names like Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, and are already favourites to win the title again this year.
However, Petkovic insists his side have a good chance of claiming the Supercoppa this Sunday.
"The first few games of the season are always an unknown," he told Lazio Style Radio. "It comes with many doubts but also some certainties, such as the fact that we will do everything to win.
"Finals are not made to play well in - just to win. Juve again this year will be the absolute favourites in Serie A - they have more quality and the best players.
"But, in single games, we are not afraid of anybody and we can play well against everybody."
Petkovic also expressed confidence that his charges will give a good account of themselves over the course of the next ten months.
"We have made progress," he added. "We have been working in this direction.
"The squad has been completed and we can make a good impression."
Following Sunday's Supercoppa clash, the Biancocelesti get their league campaign underway on August 25 when they entertain Udinese.
