The Jaguars were last in action on June 21 when they were defeated by Albirex Niigata 2-0 at the Jalan Besar Stadium, with goals coming from Masatake Sato and Kunihiro Yamashita.
But while Terry Pathmanathan's men were condemned to their ninth defeat of the campaign that day, the one positive from that game was an impressive debut performance by Gilbert Bayonne.
Despite playing up front on his own, the towering striker gave Albirex centre-back duo Yamashita and Norihiro Kawakami a real headache with his strength and pace, and never stopped trying to create something for Tanjong Pagar.
While he possesses a laboured style of running, the Haitian is deceptively quick and possesses excellent control, making it almost impossible to win the ball of him, as the White Swans defenders found out last month.
On Friday, Pathmanathan will be without inspirational captain Delwinder Singh, who is away on international duty with the Singapore U-22 side, meaning he will have to look elsewhere for a spark of brilliance if his side are to claim an unlikely win against Harimau.
But considering the Malaysian side don't have the tallest of defenders, Bayonne could just be the man to make the difference, should he receive a decent supply of balls from Hafiz Nor and Asraf Rashid.
