Hougang United vs Warriors FC: Mislav Karoglan

With their last victory in the league coming back in May when they beat DPMM FC, the Cheetahs were desperate to get back to winning ways and the club's hierarchy made the bold move of appointing their third coach of the season a day before, replacing Johana Johari with Amin Nasir.

However, they did not get off to a bright start at the Hougang Stadium as they fell behind in the 22nd minute when Shimpei Sakurada's corner made its way to Marin Vidosevic, who intelligently improvised in a difficult situation to send an overhead kick past Fadhil Salim.

The Warriors were then handed a perfect opportunity to double their tally in the 72nd minute after Erwan Gunawan was brought down inside the area by Fazly Hasan, and the usually-lethal Mislav Karoglan made no mistake by drilling the resultant penalty into the bottom corner to double his side's tally.

Two minutes from time, the hosts managed to pull one back after Fairoz Hasan latched onto a loose ball and sent a blistering strike past Hassan Sunny, but it proved to be too little too late as the Warriors held on for the three points to move above Geylang International and DPMM FC into eighth on the table.

Hougang United: Fadhil Salim, Shahir Hamzah, Hasree Zais, Igor Cerina, Fazly Hasan, Nurhilmi Jasni, Thomas Beattie, Azhar Sairudin (Syaqir Sulaiman 79'), Fazli Jaffar, Liam Shotton (Fairoz Hasan 81'), Jerome Baker (Sobrie Mazelan 71').

Warriors FC: Hassan Sunny, Jeremy Chiang, Daniel Bennett, Marin Vidosevic, Zulfadli Zainal Abidin, Matthew Abraham (Shi Jiayi 63'), Kazuyuki Toda, Shimpei Sakurada (Hafsyar Farkhan 75'), Tatsuro Inui, Erwan Gunawan (Abdil Qaiyyim 84'), Mislav Karoglan.
