Regarded as one of the best footballers to have come out of Brazil in recent times, Neymar has been reportedly tracked by numerous top teams in Europe including the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Barcelona.
The 21-year-old's recent refusal to extend his contract with current club Santos has fuelled speculation that he could be leaving in the near future, and many believe the Brazil international could soon be showcasing his talent at the Nou Camp.
Neymar himself had previously expressed his pleasure at being linked with a move to the Catalan giants, saying in an interview with Radio Globo that he felt "thankful and happy for the affection".
Edmilson believes the striker, whom he compared to Ronaldinho, should not pass up on the opportunity to leave Santos for Barcelona and tipped him to dovetail well with the irrepressible Messi in attack.
"Neymar wants to come and play in Europe," Edmilson told La Xarxa.
"He [Neymar] has a character like Ronnie [Ronaldinho]. He plays football very cheerfully and spontaneously, and with this commitment from Leo [Messi] to beat records every season, they can both do great things together.
"He is focused and uncomplicated, so if he played for Barca, the fans would love him.
"Neymar has done it all in Brazil - there is nothing left for him there."
Neymar's current contract with Santos expires in 2014.
