Khedira wants El Clasico for UCL final

The two fierce Spanish rivals have already met six times this season - twice in the league, twice in the Copa del Rey and twice in the Supercopa with Real Madrid boasting three wins and a draw out of the six fixtures.

Real are favourites to overcome Galatasaray in the quarter-finals of the Champions League while Barcelona will face a sterner test against Paris Saint-Germain, but Khedira hopes that both sides will be able to win their respective matches to set up an El Clasico finale.

"We all really want to win the 10th European Cup. Real Madrid-Barcelona is the biggest game in the world and everyone would be pleased if that were the final at Wembley," Khedira said in an interview with Marca.

The Germany international then went on to stress the Blancos are a real team again after their struggles earlier this campaign which saw them fall away form the league title race early on.

"We've put aside our egocentricity. It's difficult to say what happened exactly. We started really badly, very slowly. However, at the beginning of this year we started remembering what we're good at, playing like a true team and not hanging our heads when we concede goals," he continued.

"If you aren't a team you can't beat Barcelona in two consecutive games and knock Manchester United out of the Champions League. Now I can say that Real Madrid is a real team once again."

Khedira also had his say on head coach Jose Mourinho, and had nothing but praise for the Portuguese.

He added: "I'm really happy as one of Mourinho's players and I feel very much at home at Real Madrid.

"Mourinho was a great choice by Real Madrid, fantastic for the club. He's an outstanding coach and a great person. If it were my decision, Mou would stay. I want him to stay."

The draw for the Champions League semi-finals will be held on 12th April.
