Espanyol's Lopez to resume training
Espanyol defender Javi Lopez is expected to return to training on Wednesday after spending the night in a Barcelona hospital.
Lopez took a blow to the head during Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid, and although he was allowed to travel back to Barcelona, he was sent to hospital for further tests and to be kept under observation.
However, the club said on Monday Lopez has been cleared by doctors and has returned home.
"Javi Lopez has been monitored and all of the new tests have determined that he has not suffered any further complications, allowing him to leave the hospital at lunchtime," the club said in a statement.
"The player will rest at home and is expected back in training on Wednesday when he will be reassessed by club doctors."
