Roura feels unstoppable Barca can still improve

Barcelona assistant coach Jordi Roura was happy that his side came from behind to beat Granada on Saturday but insisted the team still has scope for improvement.

The Nou Camp outfit have an enviable array of statistics that underline the phenomenal nature of the current campaign. For instance, the 2-1 defeat of Granada was their 21st win in the league and they have been tipped to surpass the single-season points record of 100 set by arch-rivals Real Madrid in the preceding campaign - they currently have 62 points and will play 15 more games till the end of the season.

Furthermore, Lionel Messi has been simply sensational and he notched his 300th La Liga goal against Granada and also came up with the winner to complete a comeback victory on the night.

But Roura does not believe that Barca are at their very best. Defensively, they haven't been as strong as they have been in the past and the Catalan side actually fell behind within the game on Saturday, needing Messi to come up with the match-winning brace.

"There is always something that can be improved," Roura commented after the game in the post-match press conference.

"This Saturday, for example, we perhaps needed to be more calm during certain parts of the match. Not conceding goals is another objective.

"We suffered. It's logical. We knew how difficult it is to win in this stadium. Granada are a very physical side and they had nothing to lose.

"The match became complicated [after they scored] and, once again, [my] players dug deep [to get the result].

"We fought back from an adverse scoreline and the fact that we won three important points makes us happy."

The Spaniard was also unperturbed about Alexis Sanchez's inability to score goals with any regularity. The Chilean scored his first league goal of the season last week against Getafe but was unable to follow that up with further goals during Saturday's visit of Granada.

"He scored the other day and that helped him. This Saturday he had a few chances," Roura continued.

"The important thing is to encourage him and to help him not let his guard down. Our obligation is to help him."

Barcelona now turn their attention to the Champions League and their upcoming last-16 tie against AC Milan which takes place at the San Siro on Wednesday.
