Soldado, fresh from his international exploits where he scored the winner for Spain in the narrow 1-0 win over Georgia in their World Cup qualifying campaign, is keen to shift the focus back onto matters at the Mestalla where his club Valencia have so far endured a wretched start to the La Liga season.

With Los Che set to welcome Celta Vigo this weekend for their next league fixture, Soldado is eager to put the previous poor results behind them and look forward to winning their future games.

"We have to continue with the good feeling that we have, but also the results have to come," Soldado was quoted as saying by the Valencia official website.

"There is still a lot for us to show -that the team is going to grow in form.

"We had some good games, bar the one against Deportivo. We would like to have more points, of course, but there are no excuses and we have to take the three points against Celta."

The former Getafe player also spoke of Los Che's upcoming adventures in the Champions League; the club have been drawn into the same group as Bayern Munich, LOSC Lille and BATE Borisov.

"We are starting our Champions League campaign against the strongest opponent [Bayern Munich] in our group in theory.

"We have matched Real Madrid and Barcelona, so we should perform no differently against Bayern Munich."

Soldado made 51 appearances for Valencia last season, scoring 27 goals in the process and helped fire Valencia to third in the La Liga.
