Falcao is currently one the most highly-rated strikers in Europe having scored 114 goals in 160 games for Porto and Atletico over the last four seasons.
And the Colombia international has now revealed he was inspired by another prolific striker in Inzaghi, who scored 288 goals in 623 appearances throughout his career.
"Is it true that I asked Mario Yepes to ask Inzaghi to sign a Milan shirt for me? Absolutely," he revealed, according to Tuttosport.
"Inzaghi is a striker who I have always really admired because of his eye for goal. He has inspired me with his style of play."
Falcao's keen eye for goal has seen him linked with some of the continent's biggest clubs, including European champions Chelsea, although the player insists he is happy staying with the Rojiblancos.
"The truth is that my wife and I are very happy with life in Madrid," the 26-year-old added. "I still have a four-year contract here.
"You can ask any questions regarding a transfer to the Atletico directors or to my agent."
Falcao began his career at Argentine giants River Plate but moved to Europe in 2009 when Porto signed him for €4million.
