Pedro is currently on international duty with both players with Spain at Euro 2012, where they booked a semi-final meeting with Portugal after beating France 2-0 on Saturday evening.

Despite being only 23, Alba has establised himself as Spain's first-choice left-back and has started every game at the tournament, while Martinez is regarded as one of the country's most-talented midfielders despite not being able to force himself into national team coach Vicente Del Bosque's starting XI.

And Pedro, having witnessed the ability both players have firsthand, is hoping he will be playing alongside both of them on a weekly basis next season.

"Let's hope [Barca] sign [Alba]," he told Mundo Deportivo. "He's a magnificent player with great projection.

"He is complete, can play as either a winger or a full-back, is quick, has a great left foot, gets to the byline and crosses well.

"He would adapt very quickly at Barca, so let's hope he can come in. He would be a great signing.

"Even though [Martinez] is young, he has a lot of experience. He is agile and a very good player.

"He would also be a very good signing."

Considering Alba was once on the Barca youth ranks, it is likely he will prefer to return to the Nou Camp should he decide to leave Valencia.

However, the Catalan side's pursuit of Martinez will not be as straightforward as Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly very keen on his services.
