Pepe has been slammed after being caught stamping on Barca forward Lionel Messi's hand during Wednesday's ill-tempered Copa del Rey quarter-final first leg clash at the Santiago Bernabeu in which the Catalans emerged with a 2-1 victory.
"I do not have a teammate like Pepe in Barca's dressing room," Pique said during a press conference.
"But everyone saw it, everyone."
"I do not hope to have a teammate who acts like Pepe does."
"The referee may or may not have seen it, but there are people whose job it is to handle these cases," he explained.
"There is TV footage. If they do their job well, we will see what they decide."
While Madrid manager Jose Mourinho maintained that he could not view the Pepe incident from the touchline, he conceded that the former Porto man would be sanctioned if the club deduced that the latter had intended to stamp on Messi's hand.
Former Manchester United centreback Pique also reserved special mention for club colleague Messi.
"Besides what he does on the field, one must thank Messi's human quality," Pique added.
