The Ivory Coast international was still bitter about the manner of his departure from the Nou Camp to Manchester City in 2010, and said to ONA FM: "Whenever I asked Guardiola something, he always gave strange answers".
"He pretty much ignored me until City's offer came in. That's why I eventually opted to leave. I didn't speak to Guardiola for a year," Toure revealed.
"If he had talked to me I would have stayed at Barcelona. I did not want to go and wanted to end my career at Barcelona. However, he had no faith in me. I wanted to stay put, but he didn't want me to stay."
The 28-year-old made over a century of appearances for Barcelona after spending three years in Spain, but Guardiola's preference for Sergio Busquets over Toure sounded the death knell for the midfielder's place in the squad.
Toure then took a huge pay-rise offer from the Citizens in 2010, and was rewarded immediately in his first season in England, winning the FA Cup in May.
