Sahin joined Real in the summer from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €10million, but has yet to make his debut for the La Liga outfit due to a knee injury sustained during pre-season.
But with Real not due to play a game for slightly less than two weeks due to the international round of matches coming up, Mourinho has confirmed Real fans could soon witness their new midfielder in action.
"We hope that Sahin will be back with us in two weeks," Mourinho told Marca.
"The international break is taking place now, which is good for his recovery."
Mourinho also played down the achievement of claiming the Miguel Munoz trophy for being La Liga's best coach last season, stressing he would prefer team success over individual accolades.
"It's more important to win a league match like the one against Espanyol [last weekend], rather than win a prize."
Real are now third in La Liga following last Sunday's 4-0 win over Espanyol, just a point behind leaders Barcelona.
