Jovetic has been tipped for great things since being named captain of Partizan Belgrade despite being only 18.
Since then, the Montenegro international has joined Fiorentina, and while he initially started extremely brightly, his career hit a snag last term when he was ruled out for the whole season after injuring the cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Jovetic has since made a full recovery, and was back amongst the goals on Wednesday in Viola's 3-0 win over Parma.
Once linked to many of Europe's leading sides, Jovetic's agent Fali Ramadani has now declared that La Liga giants Real were once interested in his client, and even went so far as to table a substantial offer for his services.
"Every big club in Europe was interested in Stevan, and when I say every big club I am not overstating," Ramadani told La Nazione.
"In particular, I can mention Real Madrid, who tabled a very interesting offer."
However, Ramadani reveals that Jovetic was impressed by Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvivo's sincerity, which ultimately led to him joining the Viola.
"I spoke with Jovetic, but he was impressed with the persistency of Pantaleo Corvivo, who called every day.
"He demonstrated a lot of interest, respect and a cheque.
"Stevan decided to accept it and I agreed, though there were several other options."
Jovetic will get another chance to prove his worth once again when Fiorentina take on Serie A title challengers Napoli on Saturday.
