Strike duo boost Atletico
Atletico Madrid have received a huge boost after strike duo Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero both confirmed that they have no intention of quitting the club this summer.
With 49 competitive goals between them this season, Forlan and Aguero have formed a hugely prolific partnership in their first campaign together and that has inevitably led to speculation about whether Atletico will be able to keep them.
But Forlan said: "The two of us have signed contracts. I am sure that we will continue. I feel very happy in a lovely city and a great club,"
The 19-year-old Aguero had attracted a huge amount of reported interest from other clubs this season after notching 26 goals already - three more than Forlan.
Like his fellow South American though, the Argentinian striker insists his future lies at the Vicente Calderon.
"I am very well and very happy here. I am not thinking of leaving," Aguero said in AS.
"It is true that with Forlan everything has gone very well this season and we understand each other very well. I hope that next season we can be even better together."
