Garcia wants positive response with Valladolid win

Getafe coach Luis Garcia believes it is vital that his team take all three points when they host Real Valladolid this weekend.

Getafe have not won any of their last six games and are now just five points above Valladolid, who occupy the final relegation spot in the Primera Division.

And defeat would see that margin cut to two and put the Madrid outfit at risk of getting sucked into a relegation battle.

"We have moved around the table a lot this season. We have been in the relegation zone, as well as in sixth place, and this game will tell us whether in the next few weeks we'll be looking upwards or downwards," Garcia told reporters at a press conference.

"I expect a positive response from the team and the fans. We are three points from Levante, in eighth position, and if we win we'll get ourselves up there with them."

Valladolid coach Juan Ignacio Martinez has called for a repeat of last weekend's performance against Villarreal.

"We were able to beat a team of Villarreal's quality and so we have to demonstrate our quality away from home too and against Getafe that means going out on to the pitch with that same mentality, so we can keep growing," he said at a press conference.

On Luis Garcia's side, he said: "Getafe are a difficult team to get your teeth into because they always get very tight results, and in fact in their last few games, they have deserved more than they have got."

Defender Marc Valiente is set to return after missing out against Villarreal. He trained on Thursday, but Valdet Rama was forced to withdraw from the same session with a muscular problem. Despite that, he could still feature against Getafe.
