Di Maria has been frequently mentioned in reports to be on his way out of Real Madrid as a makeweight in a part-exchange deal for Tottenham's Gareth Bale, but the player himself insists that his future is at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Having been deployed by coach Carlo Ancelotti in the middle in pre-season, the 25-year-old is looking forward to his new role at the club.
"I am staying at Real Madrid. I am under contract until 2018 and I am happy here." Di Maria said.
"The boss has given minutes to all of us during the pre-season and that is important. I feel comfortable in my new position; I play more centrally now - like I do with Argentina. I am used to playing more in the middle, I'm very content there.
Di Maria hopes that the team will return unscathed from the midweek international fixtures as Real Madrid will begin their new season against Real Betis on Sunday.
"Now we will all be with our respective national teams for this week's international friendlies. My only wish is that we all return without injury and in perfect shape to start the new season."
