Barcelona started last season with a bang to capitalise on Real Madrid's slow start and never looked back as they marched to their 22nd La Liga title.
Xavi hopes that they will be able to emulate the strong start this season when they host Levante in their first game of the La Liga campaign on Sunday.
"We felt good both in the training sessions and in the game," Xavi said after their 3-1 win over a Malaysian XI.
"The players who went to the Confederations Cup have trained with the team for two weeks, and the rest of the players have been at it for three. Little by little we're getting into optimal shape.
"We have to focus on the first match of the Liga so that we can get a good start to the season and reach the objectives we've set out for ourselves."
