Since completing his move from Chelsea earlier in the month, Sturridge has impressed observers and fans by scoring two goals in as many games for Liverpool. With Brendan Rodgers' side due to take on Norwich in a Premier League encounter this weekend, many are expecting the Reds boss to unleash both Suarez and Sturridge from the first whistle.
Hamann told the club's official website that he hoped Rodgers would do so, as he was anxious for the strike pairing to develop an understanding.
"I think Sturridge has every chance of starting against Norwich, there were some very promising signs from the 45 minutes that Suarez and Sturridge played together against Manchester United and I think he will be starting with Luis on Saturday," Hamann said.
"You'll never know how well their partnership will be until they play consistently but I think it's looked promising so far. It's a partnership that really excites the fans and everybody will be looking forward to seeing how they do on Saturday."
Despite his hopes of watching Suarez and Sturridge line up together for the upcoming fixture, the German international believed the former Blues striker's impact from the bench at Old Trafford could make Rodgers think twice.
"The manager decided to keep Sturridge on the bench at Old Trafford initially because the team was on a good run - they had won seven out of nine games previous to the United match," Hamann noted.
"So it was probably the right thing to do - to start him on the bench. He came on and had an immediate impact. He scored a goal, threatened a few times with his sheer pace and made the United defence drop deeper and deeper."
