The 20-year old came to prominence as a transfer target of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger last year, before his performances for Championship side Crystal Palace earned him a place in the England squad who took on Sweden in a friendly.
Premier League sides Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham were all believed to be in the running to secure his services in late December, but the Daily Telegraph now reports that the outlook changed after the turn of the year.
With Wenger's attentions focused on tying down Theo Walcott and Tottenham reportedly becoming the latest team to pull out of the race to sign Zaha, United seem to have secured the services of the player for 12 million pounds.
However, fans will not get to see the attacker strut his stuff at Old Trafford just yet, as Ian Holloway has requested Sir Alex Ferguson loan the player back to Palace till the end of the season.
