The young Chilean moved to Wigan on loan half a season after joining United from Universidad de Chile over the summer without making a first team appearance for the current Premier League leaders.
Having made his debut for the Latics in the FA Cup over the weekend, Henriquez hopes that he will be able to develop as a player under manager Roberto Martinez.
"I'm looking forward to my time here and hopefully I can be good for the team like Tom Cleverley was when he came here on loan," Henriquez was quoted as saying on Sky Sports.
"My job is to score goals for the team and hopefully I can give Wigan fans some good memories while I'm here.
"I'm hoping to get first-team appearances in the Premier League and coming to Wigan will be a very good way to do that, particularly with the style that the gaffer has got the team playing."
Henriquez will play alongside fellow Chilean Jean Beausejour at Wigan and hopes that having a compatriot at the club can help him quickly adjust to the Premier League.
"It's great to team up with Jean because he is from Chile like me and him being here will help me to settle in, as will all of the players in the squad, Spanish speaking or not," he added.
