The France international has long been linked with a move to Newcastle, who are in the market for a striker following Demba Ba's departure for Chelsea.
Alan Pardew has publicly asked owner Mike Ashley for funds to replace Ba, and the French market has been a rich source of new recruits for Newcastle in recent times.
Now Marseille are waiting for a bid, and their director Jose Anigo said: "Some English clubs are looking at our players and have not yet come knocking on the door. It will come.
"The only window of opportunity at the moment is for Loic Remy. If a big club comes for him and he is interested we will see, but otherwise no one will go."
Remy has struggled to regain his most prolific form this season in the wake of a thigh injury which kept him out of Euro 2012.
But Anigo said: "I think he is back. I can see in training there is a renewed confidence. But if he left, we still have a strong attack."
