Arsenal played out a frustrating goalless draw with Aston Villa on Saturday as the Gunners failed to capitalise on the points dropped by Chelsea and Everton over the weekend.

Despite failing to pick up all three points, there were some positives for the Gunners to take out of the game as the result meant the usually unstable Arsenal defence have managed to keep a clean sheet in consecutive games following 2-0 win over Montpellier in the Champions League last week.

And Jenkinson, part of the Gunners squad which held the Villa attack at bay at Villa Park, highlighted how crucial it was for the Emirates Stadium outfit to keep a clean sheet and also challenged his side to go on a long unbeaten run.

"Villa played well but we need to try and nick a goal and need to try and pick up the three points in games like that," Jenkinson told Arsenal Player.

"We kept a clean sheet and that's important.

"We just need to go on a little run, a good unbeaten run.

"I think clean sheets are important. Nine times out of 10, if you keep a clean sheet, you go on to win the game.

"In the main, we haven't conceded a lot of goals this season. I think we're up there [as] one of the best, in terms of goals conceded."

The 20-year-old also issued a rallying cry for his team-mates ahead of their clash against Everton on Wednesday.

"We go into every game to win it.

"On Saturday it wasn't meant to be but we've got a huge game against Everton.

"There's no hiding, we need to win that. It's a massive game for us.

"We're on a good little run now, but we need to pick up three points on Wednesday and I'm confident we'll do that."

Arsenal are currently sixth in the table and could leapfrog fifth placed Everton with a victory over the Toffees at Goodison Park.
