Former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie's departure from the club in the summer was followed shortly by Alex Song's decision to leave for Barcelona.
With Theo Walcott rumoured to be on the January shopping list of Liverpool and Juventus, Gunner supporters are eager for the former Southampton man to commit his future to the club as his current deal runs out at the end of the season.
Following reports from London indicating that talks between Walcott's representatives and Arsenal were progressing steadily, the 23-year old wrote in the team's Champions League match day programme that he was hopeful of reaching an agreement with the club.
"I am leaving it all to my agents and [the fans] will be the first to hear when something happens," Walcott stated.
"It's important for me that something gets sorted out, because I enjoy playing for this club."
Walcott also assured the team's supporters that he would continue putting in his best efforts on the field, as he remains fully committed to the Gunners' cause.
"I don't think you can put a time frame on when it will be resolved though. When both parties are sure, it will happen when it happens," Walcott shared.
"My last contract took six or seven months, so we have to be patient, myself as well. But I'm enjoying my football at the moment, so it's not affecting me at all on the pitch."
Arsenal travel to Aston Villa for their Premier League game this Saturday.
