Michu has been in prolific form for the Swans ever since joining the side from Rayo Vallecano over the summer and has scored seven goals in his ten appearances for the Welsh side so far.
The Spaniard revealed that he is eagerly looking forward to playing at Anfield and vowed to go for the Capital One Cup despite it being perceived by the bigger clubs as a secondary priority.
"When I was growing up, I heard a lot of stories about Anfield and the atmosphere during games," he told Swansea's official website.
"It is a special atmosphere and I've always thought about what it would feel like being part of the opposition side that played there. Hopefully I'll get that chance on Wednesday night.
"It would be great to win there and create history for the club.
"Of course, to play at Wembley would be amazing, but that's a long way off at the moment.
"But I am yet to win a trophy in my career, so to win this competition would be very special myself and the club."
Michu may find himself lining up against former team mate Daniel Pacheco, who was on loan at Rayo from Liverpool last season, and he hopes to come out the happier of the two after the match.
"I know Daniel very well from his time on loan at Rayo," added Michu. "He is a really good guy and a talented player.
"We haven't played against each other in the past, but hopefully we will get that opportunity on Wednesday.
"We have spoken to each other in the last few days about the game, and everyone is really looking forward to it.
"For us it's a great chance to get into the quarter-final for the first time in the club's history, so hopefully I will be the one celebrating and not Daniel."
