Jovetic was reportedly on the radar of several top clubs including the likes of Chelsea, Juventus and Zenit St Petersburg during the summer but the highly rated 22-year-old eventually remained on at the Viola and has already made eight league appearances for the club this season.
Manchester City were allegedly one of the clubs chasing the signature of the Montenegro international, although the club never publicly came out to acknowledge their interest in the player.
Gregucci has however come out to proclaim that the Citizens were indeed tracking the progress of Jovetic and could attempt to bring the player to the Etihad Stadium in the near future.
"Jovetic is on our list, we cannot deny it," Gregucci told Violanews.com.
"He is a great player, but after that I don't know if he will wear the Manchester City jersey or not, as I am not the one to ask.
"I can only reply that City's interest is concrete and we cannot hide ourselves in that respect."
Gregucci, who was appointed as defensive coach of the club during the summer, also refused to speculate on whether City's summer coup of Matija Nastasić would be a success at the club.
"I am not someone who likes to pass quick judgement, so I won't say after a few months that we are dealing with a champion," Gregucci added.
"We have to wait and see if Nastasic really can make history with this club.
"He certainly has great talent, but outlandish comparisons only risk damaging the lad's progress."
Jovetic, whose playing style has been often compared to Italy legend Roberto Baggio, made a total of 29 appearances for Fiorentina last season and scored 14 goals in the process.
