Nani wants to take the game to Stoke

Manchester United winger Nani is aware that Stoke play a physical game against their opponents and called on his team-mates to play to their strengths against them.

Great finish from Nani...

Stoke defeated Liverpool and Tottenham and managed to hold their own against United, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea last season, proving themselves a team not intimidated by the star billing given to sides from the top half of the Premier League table.

In the current season, only Chelsea have managed to defeat them in their first seven games and Tony Pulis' men stubbornly held on to secure a point against Liverpool in their previous league outing.

The Potters are known for their physicality alongside a penchant for hoofing up long balls in the hopes of utilising the aerial prowess of striker Peter Crouch. Therefore, Nani feels that his team-mates have no choice but to dictate the game and carry out their own brand of fast-paced and possession-based attacks from the off in order to stifle the visitors' gameplan on Saturday.

"It is always hard to play against Stoke because they play a different kind of football to most teams in the Premier League. They are very physical and have very strong players," Nani told MUTV.

"It is also difficult because most of the game is in the air. We need to be strong and try to play our game.

"We are playing at home and we have to believe we can win the three points. It is very important because when you play at home, you have a good chance to win these games."

The Portuguese winger is happy that the Red Devils got back to winning ways against Newcastle prior to the international break. They had earlier suffered a defeat to Tottenham but Nani is confident that they can now try and kickstart another winning run in order to catch up with league leaders Chelsea.

"It is a good time for us. We had a very good result last time against Newcastle before the international break so we are confident and it is a good time to start to believe," he added.

"But we do not set long-term targets - our only target is to always win the game and to finish on top."
