Chamakh signed for the Gunners in 2010 but has since found himself on the periphery of the first team, making only just 19 appearances for the club last season and has not yet featured in a single game for the North London outfit so far this season.
With attackers Olivier Giroud, Gervinho and Lukas Podolski all ahead of the 28-year-old in the team, Chamakh's chances of playing appears slim and Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud has once again expressed his interest in bringing the striker back to Les Girondins.
"There is a serious chance Chamakh could return," Triaud said.
"Money is the key question because salaries in the Premier League are enormous but it's also necessary for him to play.
"In December 2011 I sent a message to say the door was open for a return but he wanted to stay.
"Now the message is there again with the same objective."
Chamakh was an integral part of Bordeaux before his move to Arsenal and made a total of 301 appearances for the club, scoring 76 goals in the process.
