Transfer rumours involving a possible move away from Fiorentina have continued to emanate from Italy, despite club management insisting on several occasions their intentions to keep the Jovetic. Premier League side Chelsea were the latest to tempt the Italian club's resolve when they made a 20 million Euro bid at the end of June.
Although the Fiorentina board turned down the Blues' bid, La Gazetta dello Sport report that the Serie A side will not be able to hold out for much longer. The striker's contract is believed to contain a buy-out clause of 25 million Euros, an amount that Roman Abramovich is unlikely to baulk at.
Jovetic has also attracted the interest of Napoli and Inter Milan. Despite calls from Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade to declare his desire to stay with the club, the forward has kept silent. Many observers have taken Jovetic's silence as a sign of his aspiration to move to greener pastures.
Often compared to a younger Roberto Baggio, the former Partizan Belgrade player has been identified by Chelsea scouts as an ideal replacement upfront for Blues icon Didier Drogba. Their pursuit of Jovetic is also seen as a safety net for the previously misfiring Fernando Torres.
