The attacker has been pillored for a lack of spark since last season, but the Frenchman believes that Arshavin's desire has helped him back on the right path at the Emirates, according to reports from talkSPORT.
After the Gunners' 1-0 win over Swansea, Wenger said: "Andrey Arshavin has a great spirit, when he doesn't fancy it he lacks confidence I feel. It's never because he doesn't want it."
"You should see him practice, attitude wise he is fantastic but he had lost confidence for a while and it had affected his game and now I think he's back to full confidence."
"A bit like the team they did [OK]," said Wenger about his side's performance against Swansea.
"Mertesacker was calm and composed and [was a] good experienced leader at the back. [Mikel] Arteta had a very good first-half and then as well [found it] a bit more difficult in the second-half but overall it was very positive."
